SUMMARY:NPP 2025: Anna Biczók / UTTU
DESCRIPTION:UTTU\n\nis the space of the hidden\n\nis a memory that emerges
from the right hip\nis the wound of the past worn on the skin\nis where li
ght enters the darkness\n\nis asking to look at her insides\nis weaving to
gether the inside and the outside\nis feeling all the surfaces that are to
uched and seen\n\nis letting the light cut through the bones\nis making th
e wounds shine\n\nUTTU is a performative movement exploration that emerges
from openness\, allowing things\nto surface\, rather than be shaped. It i
nvites the hidden\, the broken\, the unwanted\, and the\nin-between to rev
eal themselves - those neglected fragments that exist on the other side. I
n\nthis space of non-separation\, movement unfolds through the gesture of
attunement.\n\nUTTU is also a Mesopotamian goddess associated with weaving
 .\n\n\n\nConcept\, Artistic Direction\, Performance: Anna Biczók\nMusic:

ian dance artist based in Vienna/Stockholm. As a dancer she has worked wit
h HODWORKS\, Viktor Szeri\, Karin Pauer and Claudia Bosse among others. In
her practice she investigates body and movement as expressions of the dan
cer’s personal and cultural heritage\, exploring immaterial content stor
ed in the ‘body material’. In her work as a choreographer she insists
on choreography emerging from the position of ’the dancer’ and on offe
ring ‘the world’ as a cut through the dancer's somatic lense. Her solo
work Precedents to a Potential Future premiered at Cialo/Umysl Festival 2
017 in Warsaw and was presented at BE Festival 2019 and Batârd Festival 2
020\, among others. 2020-2022 she has been invited to the Creative Crossro
ads artist program (Life Long Burning) delegated by Workshop Foundation Bu
dapest. Her work DELICATE was in Impulstanz 2023 8[:tension] selection.\n\
n\n\nNPP 2025\nDuring two weeks in May\, students at the Master's Programm
e New Performative Practices (NPP) invite you to take part of thirteen pre
sentations of artistic practice. You are welcome to participate\, witness\
, watch\, listen\, share\, and sometimes intimately engage with these arti
sts’ curiosities and performative explorations in venues throughout Stoc
kholm 6–18 May 2025.\n\nIn the presentation each of the thirteen artists
proposes a specific way of inhabiting and unveiling the artistic practice
with which they are currently engaged. In these encounters\, audiences ca
n expect a wide range of approaches to sharing their practice through form
ats spanning from staged to non staged performances\, performance installa
tions\, participatory performances\, publishing or other objects and situa
tions as sites for performative investigations.\n\nStudents on the MA prog
ram New Performative Practices are experienced practitioners from differen
t fields. In their education at SKH Dance\, these performing artists are g
iven the context and support to delve into their own histories\, refine an
d develop their research methods and shape sustainable approaches to suppo
rt ongoing practices in their chosen field of art. The program is research
preparatory\, qualifying the student for a Master's degree in Choreograph
y with a focus on performative practices.\n\nWeld is one of this year's ho
sts and here you will meet Anna Biczok\, Zhana Pencheva\, Anna Apergi\, Vi
ncent Jonsson and Martin Sieweke.\n\nSee full program at uniarts.se\n\n&nb
