SUMMARY:NPP 2025: Martin Sieweke / Leaking into para-time
DESCRIPTION:Leaking: like a drop that forms over time until it gathers enou
gh weight to leave the surface\, while another drop is forming\, defining
its own parameters of gathering and falling.\n\nA leak depends on a leanin
g against\, an insistence on leaning against a little gap\, a space in bet
ween the river flows\, it might echo as a call for action\, or else leaks
too slowly to be noticed. The time it takes for the drop to fall\, is hold
ing a term\, is making the leak more or less apparent\, is marking a terri
tory of control\, in an effort to contain what will always remain dropping
and pouring somewhere.\n\nLeaking into para-time is a performative instal
lation that explores the forming of a landscape of collected material that
were leaking out of the stream of utility and efficiency. It holds a hand
underneath these shapes to see what else they might become\, observing th
eir gravitational negotiation\, like a flat stone being hurled over the wa
ter surface. Each surface contact takes it further from the shore until th
e spinning cannot sustain itself and weight is introduced again. The stone
sinks to the bottom of the sea\, where the tide and waves move it again a
nd sand soften its edges.\nThe performative installation is accompanied by
  a publication.\n*para: a prefix“meaning at or to one side of\, beside\,
  side by side” ( parabola\; paragraph\; parallel\; paralysis )\, “beyo
 nd\, past\, by”\n[www.dictionary.com/browse/para]\n\n\n\nConcept &amp\;

\nresearches on different notions of material-relations\, working on and t
hrough prolongation\, adaptation\, detaching and recomposing as a dialogic
al interest. His practice of thinking with and alongside material tendenci
es hijacks the new towards a relational territory\, installing an ecology
that destabilizes the distances of consumerism. He explores these inventor
ies of alternatives through bag-making\, workshops\, performances and scen
 ography.\n\nmartinsieweke.com\n\n\n\nNPP 2025\nDuring two weeks in May\, s
tudents at the Master's Programme New Performative Practices (NPP) invite
you to take part of thirteen presentations of artistic practice. You are w
 elcome to participate\, witness\, watch\, listen\, share\, and sometimes i
ntimately engage with these artists’ curiosities and performative explor
ations in venues throughout Stockholm 6–18 May 2025.\n\nIn the presentat
ion each of the thirteen artists proposes a specific way of inhabiting and
unveiling the artistic practice with which they are currently engaged. In
these encounters\, audiences can expect a wide range of approaches to sha
ring their practice through formats spanning from staged to non staged per
 formances\, performance installations\, participatory performances\, publi
shing or other objects and situations as sites for performative investigat
ions.\n\nStudents on the MA program New Performative Practices are experie
nced practitioners from different fields. In their education at SKH Dance\
, these performing artists are given the context and support to delve into
their own histories\, refine and develop their research methods and shape
sustainable approaches to support ongoing practices in their chosen field
of art. The program is research preparatory\, qualifying the student for
a Master's degree in Choreography with a focus on performative practices.\
n\nWeld is one of this year's hosts and here you will meet Anna Biczok\, Z
hana Pencheva\, Anna Apergi\, Vincent Jonsson and Martin Sieweke.\n\nSee f
 ull program at uniarts.se\n\n&nbsp\;
