SUMMARY:Weld Extended + Liz Kinoshita (CA/SE)
DESCRIPTION:The first process in Weld Extended’s work this autumn is with
  Canadian choreographer Liz Kinoshita\, who is based in Stockholm and is n
 ow working with dancers Amina Avdic\, Nelia Naumanen\, Lander Casier\, Sha
 i Faran\, Daniel Staaf and Zoë Poluch.\n\n\n\nWELD EXTENDED\nIn the Weld 
 Extended project\, dancers with different backgrounds\, skills and experie
 nces are invited to work together with Swedish and international choreogra
 phers in curious and exploratory processes. The invitation to the choreogr
 apher consists of sharing their practice\, returning to older material or 
 exploring new material. For the dancers\, it provides an opportunity to ex
 perience new methods and aesthetics\, to be enriched and challenged\, and 
 to meet colleagues they may never have worked with before.\n\nWe want to p
 rovide opportunities for both newly graduated choreographers and dancers a
 nd established Swedish and international artists. Sometimes\, Weld Extende
 d can also be linked to existing projects or concepts that need a cohesive
  group structure\, which is what we did in the 2024 process with Jeanine D
 urning. Weld wants to open up opportunities for more Swedish and internati
 onal dancers and choreographers to work together.\n\n\n\nLIZ KINOSHITA (CA
 /SE)\nis a choreographer\, performer\, dance pedagogue and organiser. She 
 has worked with ZOO/Thomas Hauert\, Tino Sehgal\, among others\, and creat
 ed her own work with collaborators such as Clinton Stringer\, Justin F. Ke
 nnedy and Salka Ardal Rosengren. Her practices focus on musicality in danc
 e\, working with live performances shared (inter)nationally. Her creations
  include VOLCANO (2014)\, Radical Empathy (2017)\, You Can’t Take It Wit
 h You (2017)\, 11 O’clock (2021)\, Saga Saga (2024). Liz was Artistic As
 sociate with Rosas for West Side Story (2020) on Broadway (NYC). She creat
 ed Midnight Oil (2024) for and with Norrdans\, with original composition b
 y Twin Shadow AKA George Lewis Jr. Liz has organised as an advocate for da
 nce communities through groups such as State of The Arts\, voices for danc
 e\, and Danscentrum Stockholm. She presently organises höjden nights pres
 enting multidisciplinary artists within a convivial context at höjden stu
